Inducing Jordan's Sports Arena with Inovation

SEEDING JORDAN SPORTS INDUSTRY TO SUPPORT A LOCAL FOOTBALL TEAM WITH A NEW FUND

Jordan has been experiencing slow growth in the sports industry.  Lukemani is currently conducting due-diligence to unveil potential for high-growth and socioeconomically sustainable development in sports with focus on a local football team.

The sports industry in Jordan has been lagging due to the following:

  • Lack of internal funding limited to local donations
  • No focus on competitive performance
  • Low media coverage
  • Weak and not sustainable business model limited to foreign media rights revenues

The new fund will focus to reposition the sports environment through support of a local football team (to be announced) and establish a profitable context for future expansion using the local team as a vehicle.
Final model will be announced soon with details.  For more information, contact This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .

Reviving Iraq’s Farming Economy with Solar Power

SHORT-TERM SOLUTION PUTTING FARMERS BACK TO WORK REBUILDING THE ECONOMY

Since the dawn of civilization, Iraq (known as Mesopotamia at the time) has been a thriving land with farming. The industry has started in Iraq in the old ages and spread from there on.  Today, Iraq’s farming industry is suffering from underutilization and negligence; a common trend in Middle East countries as more focus is put towards other economies, predominantly oil.

Iraq’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) has been increasingly dependent on oil and less on other core economies like farming.  Yet many economic studies find farming industry can be as strategic as oil.  Today, 95% of the Iraqi government budget is dependent on oil export returns while farming constitutes a negligible 3% putting the economy as a whole at risk.

The government and various ministries have been putting tremendous efforts addressing farming issues and are making tremendous progress.  However, these efforts will take time to effect farmers directly and reflect back on the economy.  This is where solar power can provide quick and sustainable solution to the issues facing farming and can put farmers back to work today.

Harnessing the power of sunny days, the system as shown above can be constructed in 2-3 weeks per site and can provide water for farm irrigation whenever needed. The system can also be extended to provide electricity to power farmers’ house-hold needs.  The system will allow farmers to be self-sufficient, at virtually no running costs to sell their crops.  This will allow farmers not only to start farming their lands, but also lower their crop cost.  The solar irrigation system will also enable the farming of lands far away from cities by providing electrical power and water for farmers.

Lukemani is working with governments, NGO’s and companies to deploy the system and help farmers be part of the economy again.  For more information, send an email to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
